German Shepards are really the smartest dogs I've ever interacted with. Lots of personality and just very bright in general. It's really too bad that many suffer from those degenerative hip problems later in their lives.... so sad

Yah the first Shepherd my family got (this is the second) died of Hip Dysplasia. Or rather, we had to put him to sleep. He was totally healthy forward from his hips, just his back legs and hips didn't work. I just looked in his eyes and could tell he just couldn't understand why he didn't work. He still wanted to be part of the family, but couldn't operate.

He was the greatest dog ever. I'll never forget him
