I almost always sell my current card when upgrading, and for that reason I really like the double lifetime warranty XFX offers and will generally prefer to buy an XFX card over another brand.
XFX's site says otherwise.no, MANY companies say "lifetime* and then *Lifetime means lifetime of the card which is X months/years", I have seen X be between 6 months and 5 years.
XFX explicitly states that it is lifetime of the PURCHASER, as long as YOU, the purchaser, is alive, you have warranty.
The "double lifetime" comes from the ability to transfer it... it is the lifetime of the original purchaser AND a second lifetime warranty for whomever the purchaser SOLD the card to.
The caveat is that you must register your purchase within 30 days or its a 1 year warranty (a caveat made by ALL companies that offer lifetime warranty, including eVGA and BFG)... Note however that there is another issue here... lifetime of the company. BFG is out of the graphics card business and thus their lifetime warranties are now all gone.
We will service and repair any XFX 6-, 7-, 8-, 9-, GTX-, GTS-, GT-, and GeForce Series or any XFX Radeon HD Series Graphics Card for the lifetime of that card. All you have to do is register your card with us online within 30 days of purchase. And, if you sell or give the card to someone else, well honor the warranty for the second owner, as long as he/she registers the card with us.
GRAPHICS CARDS: The limited hardware warranty for Graphics Cards lasts for a time period of one year. If you register the product online at http://www.xfxforce.com/ within 30 days of purchase, your limited warranty will be extended for the duration of your life. Registration within 30 days of the date of purchase is a condition precedent to receiving the lifetime warranty.
The limited hardware warranty on all XFX-branded products begins on the date of the packing slip, invoice, or receipt. The warranty period is not extended if we repair or replace a warranted product or any parts. XFX may change the availability of limited hardware warranties, at its discretion, but any changes will not be retroactive.
