My father either has Saturday/Sunday or Friday/Tuesday off within a week. On the night previous to his days off, he will view pornography for 17-19 hours straight. My mother doesn't approve, but he does it anyway. He apparently now has been going on while I sit in my room in the evenings he even doesn't have off for about an hour. I can't imagine being that desperate for pornography is a good thing at all; it's so bad that I might classify it as addiction. He also uses Yahoo! Instant Messenger to chat with porno stars, and apparently chats with people about his age in adult rooms. I tend to think he's cheating on my mother with it. Anybody have different/same views on this, and does anybody have any advice? (P.S, I'm 16 and I can't really confront him about it too easily... the one time I did, he told me to mind my own business.)

Porn does not equal cheating.

Watching it 17-19 hours in a row would be cause for concern.

I also tend to find random photographs of people looking to be about his age, but they're not porno stars or anything. It seems like they're normal people that probably live around here.

I've found plenty of porn on my dad's computer. I also think he cheats on my mom, but I have no real proof other than pictures and whatnot. I'm in high school as well so there's really no way to confront him..especially since he always talk about all the "crap on the internet and tv". I just find it really hypocritical and it bothers me a little but I don't think there's anything I can do.

I could try that.. but I'd love to see the conversation. "Hey mom, I'm worried because I think dad's addicted to porn." I might think that odd to come from a 16 year old..

Because 52-year-olds who are on oxygen 24/7 can put out so easily.

Damn man, I can't even spend 17-19 hours watching something with a plot!

This reminds me of Al Franken's book where he mentioned his favorite statistic ever: 11 minutes. That's the average length of time pay-per-view porn is watched in hotel rooms.

Well, it's that or just live with things the way they are. Your mom will have to confront your dad and get him help.

Your dad clearly has abandoned your mom emotionally and physically in her time of need. He is scum.

Yeah, he is wasting at least 5 hours a day he could be looking at porn. Also, for christmas you could get him some good lube.

Change your title to "My Dad's addicted to porn."

17-19 hour sessions isn't "cause for concern," it's "cause for a fvcking intervention."
