That is good to hear and helps me a lot. Thanks.

I'm back and forth between the 904 and the 1000HA - is that extra screen worth the +$30?

Newegg

The 1000HA is at Newegg right now with a 40 dollar MIR. 410 before, 370 after wards. I dislike MIRs, but its an option. 6 cell battery too.

The screens display the same resolution, but the 1000HA will 'appear' bigger because its larger.

It is likely that I will sell the 904HA in 2009 for something with some better video capabilities. Not that I particularly need it, but it would be nice to actually be able to play something, some games, HD video, etc. I'll be keeping my eye out for new models in 2009.

There is some interesting things from the MSI Wind line up, and the Via Nano platform looks intriguing though I haven't seen any actual decent looking products from it yet.

Asus seems to be focusing on their 200 dollar netbook for early 2009.

I can't see this being true at all for a touch typist. I went to BB to check out some netbooks and I could barely use the 8.9" Asus, and I'm 5'8" and ~140lbs. Maybe if a person uses their index fingers to peck at the keyboard it would work but anyone that types without looking at the keyboard should have a hard time.

anyway I don't have a netbook but I'm still looking :(

Hopefully, in 2009 we'll see products with AMD Neos, Via Nanos, and Nvidia IGPs. Those products will make today's netbooks look like cracker jacks.

which means todays netbooks should be cheaper, at least used. im really considering ditching my T60 for a quad core box and getting a netbook to take around.

I'm not a touch typist :^P

I have an advanced hunt/peck routine that's fairly quick for what it is, but I wouldn't make much of a secretary :^D
