I'm only at about episode 19 so I'm not through the entire "day" yet but seriously? All this shit is going down in less than a day? Come on...it's 1 ridiculously insane event after another...some of the characters, like Kim Bauer and Teri Bauer, are fucking retards.

"I'm 2 inches away from escape but oh no, they have my mom! I can't escape to tell my dad/police/CTU where they've been keeping us so we can rescue mom and kill the bad guys! I have to stay and comfort her!"

And that's just 1 of the retarded actions taken by these 2 women...Didn't Jack, super badass spec-ops warrior/counter-terrorist, ever teach them anything?

is every season like this?

I guess it's mostly entertaining but I just can't get over some of the completely unbelivable shit that happens.

Show is awesome, sorry you are disappoint.

I agree on the Time thing, it's not doable. Regardless, the show is non-stop.

Wife/Daughter are mostly in Season 1. He's been trying to keep them separate from his Kick Assery, that's why they're clueless.

Yes. One or two seasons were more than enough, unless you're like a dog that falls for that fake ball thrown trick every single time, without ever wising up, or you're a person who likes one particular food and so eats it every single day at every single meal.

Yeah after a while I just couldn't stand watching it. It's the same stupidity recycled over, over and over and over. How many times can CTU be infiltrated by moles for god's sake?

I realized it by the episode where the girls get away and then the van wrecks them and snatches them again. I predicted the whole thing, the pattern is stupid and I don't know how the show got so successful. It starts off awesome and I couldn't wait for the next episode. But it gets redundant before the first season ends.

1st season is great.
It goes downhill sharply after that. If you are bored in the first season I recommend riding it out and then forgetting it.

Lots of Action and Tension. There's never been a TV show with that much Action. It's far from perfect, but it's Entertaining.

You'd think that, having passed nearly the decade mark after the show first aired, that someone would have noticed!

Great find, Sherlock. :p

I think part of the problem is watching it on DVD so there's not a week between eps for you to forget what happens from hour to hour. When you watch an entire season in a week or so, it becomes super apparent how repetitive the dialogue and nuances of the show are. I felt the same way about the 4th season of Dexter, which I watched in 3 days. It was good, but would have been much better if I'd watched it over the course of at least a month.

I have that problem with shows too, even the ones I like (Dexter as an example). You need a week of withdrawal to make you miss the show and love it and need it.
Back to back you grow tired and stop caring.

Season one is decent. It's like realistic to some extent. If you think that was frustratingly stupid, wait till you get ton Season 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... It's just dumb at the end. Completely repetitive, formulaic, predictable. Twists are in there for the sake of twists, and even if you didn't see it coming, well it was a similar twist before so it's not like it totally caught you off guard. At least the season 1 twists are interesting.

Season 5 was it? The one with terrorist strikes like 5 in a row in 4 hrs or something. It's kinda ridiculous. It's like 9/11 x 10... and you would think the country doesn't blow up from that.

Eh. I watched seasons 1-4 one after the other... like a drug. I don't think it makes that big of a difference. Where some seasons/episodes make you crave for the next one, I think it becomes less and less like that. Seasons 1 and 2 really get you going and you really want to watch it through, but after that... well by Season 5 or 6 I knew I was just riding the show out because I've watched so much anyway.

The only thing that kept the show good was "badass Jack." I think so many of my friends think the show is good because he does something badass. It's almost like the most shallow thing you could appreciate the show for when the story itself has gone to shit. I mean sorry, that doesn't make a show good. If it gives it a kick that's great, but in no way is that quality...
