and it was okay for a few weeks. Then, it started turning the brightness down by itself. Last week, it started bringing up the entire menu, in German. I couldn't take it anymore, so I took the monitor apart. There was a glob of warm sugary goop behind several of the buttons. I cleaned it off, but it still didn't work. So, I cut the signal wires from all of the buttons except for power. Now it's working great.. I just can't access the menu.

Anyone else ever done their own ghetto electronics repair?

My phone's fvcked up due to the many times that I threw it on the ground in frustration.

Well, one time I got really, really pissed and started punching it.

Now my screen won't work. When I realized that, I threw the phone on the ground.

Then, the antenna broke off, so I just took an 8 inch long piece of 1/8 welding rod, and stuck it in the antenna hole.

Now I get better reception than ever before. I am able to talk comfortably even in the basement, where before I wouldn't get a signal down there.

The only bad part about it is I can't access my phone book, so I have to type each number in by hand, and then press send.

Phone: Motorola C343a by US Cellular.

Did you unplug it?

Much electricity stays with the tube even AFTER unplugging. It can take a few days to fully dissipate.
