1. For some reason it won't save my logins.
2. Just realized my fotki toolbar won't work with it.
3. No adblocker.
4. It keeps popping up with the same browser windows I quit with.
5. Everytime I make a stray click it asks me about mouse gestures or downloading voice modules. . .
6.no stumbleupon. . .

I use to love opera in like the 3.02 versions - thought I'd give her a try for memories sake. . .

1. yes it does, you have to hit the wand button up next to the url.
2. ok
3. yes there is
4. You can make it not do this, but this is very useful for when your computer crashes, what not.
5. no problems like that here.
6. o wells.

I believe most of those problems can be resolved through configuration. While I am a Firefox fanboy, I can honestly say that Opera is an awesome browser.

1. Just hit "Ctrl + Enter" for saved logins
2. Meh.
3. Text
4. Can be disabled for closing the browser, yet still saves sessions when it crashes.
5. Use the damn mouse gestures.
6. Meh.

When it comes to security and simplicity and i say firefox but when it comes to speed i use IE. I never tried Opera

IE 6 is still king.

I'll save my resevations for version 7.

I also prefer IE if not just for familiarity's sake. Everyone bitches about security, I've never had any serious compromise of my PC/browser. Yeah my AV has detected an infected file here and there but if I can't tell any harm is being done frankly I don't give a damn.

Firefox isn't terribly secure, either. Just recently there was a huge javascript exploit that would allow someone capable enough to take over one's browser. However, you could always install the no-script extension if you're really worried.

Also, didn't opera win the last big browser speed battle?

yea...it's well known that opera is definitely the fastest browser, but firefox is definitely much more user friendly, and seems to have less compatibility issues with web pages

i personally use opera, but i recommend firefox to most of my non-techie friends

What version are you using? I use version 7.23.

Opera is the fastest and most secure out of IE and firefox.

I use all three (IE, Opera, and firefox).

1. For some reason it won't save my logins.

I don't have that problem, but here's what you can do.

Don't tell it to delete new cookies upon exit. It's under Tools --> preferences --> advanced --> cookies

I don't use it, but I believe Wand will do this as well

2. Just realized my fotki toolbar won't work with it.

WTH is a fotki toolbar?

3. No adblocker.

There is an adblocker, but I like The Proxomitron better.

4. It keeps popping up with the same browser windows I quit with.

Tools --> Preferences --> General --> Change startup to 'Start with home page'

5. Everytime I make a stray click it asks me about mouse gestures or downloading voice modules. . .

Tools --> Preferences --> advanced --> shortcuts --> check 'enable mouse gestures'
"" --> "" --> "" --> voice --> uncheck "Enable voice controlled browsing"

6.no stumbleupon. . .

*shrug*
