I reached my limit and need to pay for an item. Any cons to giving PP your bank info? Are they still terrorists who take money out of your bank acct without authorization? If so i might just go open another bank acct and put $10 in it. Any other way around this?

aren't there a lot of horror stories about them taking $ out of your acct when someone complains...without first checking with u etc...

I never heard of that. I've never used a credit card either. I've been using Paypal since 2000.

I sure haven't heard of anything. Matter of fact I've heard just the opposite. PayPal can't touch the funds in your account without direct authorization. A good friend was burnt on an eBay deal. He tried to get his funds back but the seller already moved the cash from his PayPal account to his bank account.

I setup access to my bank account long ago and I've had no problems. The only way to do online paying. Heck I don't even look at the auction or post unless the buyer accepts PayPal. Doing anything else is too much of a headache.

How about THIS?

QUOTE:
3. Their terms of service are not completely disclosed upon signup and some key "conditions" are not disclosed. No place do they openly tell potential members that their money is 100% at risk. That PayPal can, will, and has in the past, completely cleaned out customers' accounts, (including your checking or savings account) with no appeals process available. No place do they tell you that PayPal can close your account for any reason what-so-ever, or no reason, and then you have to wait 180 days to get your money. Think that'll never happen? Think again. That's what everyone thinks till it happens to them.

There are horror stories for every service in existance. The fact that horror stories exist is no reason to not use a service that countless more people have had no problem with.

Don't you dare say anything about AOL or MS. 😛

I image there must be millions of people using PayPal regularly, and I'm sure what you're worried about happens, but you can't go through life worrying about getting hit by a meteorite, your lava lamp exploding and killing you, or PayPal stealing your money.

well..i have quite a bit of cash sitting around in my checking($10k at least) regularly so i do not want to worry about PP fvcking with me.

i think best bet is go to washington mutual and get a free checking acct. Then no worries.

It's no big deal to open a new acct. just for PayPal, you can even make it a business acct. and get some benefits from the bank. PayPal doesn't like online banks, I have a Netbank acct. - one of the biggest online banks, and PayPal won't recognize it, saying because of lack of identity security it and others like it can't be used as a PayPal acct.
