Good ol' K6-x...they kinda sucked in a lot of ways, but they kicked ass in other ways.

1. The 2x-6x multiplier trick
2. The voltage mod trick using resistors, allowing you to use low-voltage K6-2/3 on boards that would support them BIOS-wise but not voltage-wise
3. K6-plus CPU's kicked ass. I can't count the number of times a friend would be over and nearly sh*t his pants cause I had a K63+ 450@600 that would perform just about as well as his P3-600 in games, and beat him in most benchmarks.
4. K6 desktop CPUs that you could use in laptops (esp. K6-+)

Good times...good times.

Yeah they suck now, and yeah thats way too much for any K6 cpu, but they were definately underrated I think.

i just fried my old k7 550mhz by putting the cpu clock to 133 mhz... cry... i am thinking about buying a new working one to put in the computer as everything else in it works fine. it lasted 6 years.

I still have a K63+ 450@550 machine running. Only use it for IRC chatting nowadays though.

Up until pretty recently, newegg was selling k6-II 500s for like $12. I snagged one and its purring away in a "IT server" behind me. Its a fun little box, meets some important needs too. Its no k6-III+ which were extremely badass (and expensive) IIRC.

Whoopity-doo.

I'd say watch out for being ripped off outside of the official ebay system, but ebay doesn't do jacksh|t when you get ripped off within the system so its not like it really matters.

no...if the gy places a bid on the iteam...and nick1985 simply ends the auction early...stating him as the winner..its perfectly legal and quite alright....I do this all time (offer high bids on stuff because im impatient)
