Do you take any notice of reviewers’ comments when shopping on Amazon? How about the ones that come with the disclaimer, “I received this product for free or at a discount in exchange for my honest, unbiased review”?

Just weeks after the publication of research that suggested these so-called “incentivized” reviews warp the site’s rating system, the e-commerce giant has decided to ban them.

An incentivized review is when a seller offers an online shopper a product for free, or at a discount, in exchange for a write-up.

Yeah, that would destroy the book industry if they did that. Most of the big publishers send out hundreds of free copies for reviewers to build buzz before release.

Do you recommend your book for a hard science fiction / nonfiction type fan? I think 800 page books are short, and complain when physics laws are broken. Not usually big on the post-apocalyps genre, though the Max Brooks books were good fun...
 
I would think you might be pleasantly surprised, umm, scientifically speaking, avoiding spoilers.

Amazon actually does have a pretty good program for audio books, and it's a huge market. It's something I may consider after I finish my current project.

I have an Audible subscription. Love it. For $14 a month I get 1 credit on any book, plus 30% off on any purchases. It is a big market.
