Yeah, dont do that. It will ruin the paint.

Too bad I didn't realize that until I was finished washing the doors of my car.

Ahh well. Live and learn.
 

Uh, didn't you know that steel wool would completely ruin your car's paint?

No there are 2.

1. ruins car, as such this thread.

2. He has a delorean, which has stainless steal and some owners use a brillo pad to clean

Hrmmm... I used a regular dishwashing pad on my car one time to get out the bug stains (which were too tough for the car sponge), and that scratched it :(

LOL, don't mind these folk LZ. I did the same thing 1 1/2 years ago on our 2001 windstar, put alittle bit of scratches on it too. But I could care less, it's just a minivan and it didn't hurt the performance(still goes 0-60 in 35 seconds). As long as it gets me from A to Z I'm fine with it.

That's nothing. I once washed my face with a pumice stone (the kind you use for buffing off calluses). It really hurt, but I thought "No Pain - No Gain" and went at it. OUCH.


It was not one of my brighter moments.
