So my AV stuff is in like a cabinent thing that doesnt have an open back, just a front that opens, and i was trying to think of ways to cool it. I was thinking maybe putting a couple case fans on it, which i dont mind drilling the wood and doing, but what would be the best way of powering it? im fairly knowledgeble in electronics i just wanted some suggestions on fans and such....thanx

an old PSU? Plugged into the wall behind, connected to all your fans?

First thing I do with my entertainment center thing sis cut out the back. Makes it hard to run the cables and stuff with the back on there. Don't have to cut it totally off but I cut a large opening. Helps for cabling and cooling.

But I'd just wire a little fan in there somehow but you still need to have one place for the air to come in and another for it to go out...

I pulled a 75W PSU out of an old Compaq POS for just this sort of project.

hmmm,
Radio shack has 120 volt fans.

Or you can order them online, at places like MCMElectronics.com Search for "FAN AC", seem to have a few for $20 or so.

Only concern for me is finding a quiet one that moves a good volume of air.... haven't really looked for that yet.
