edit - fixed the link, my bad black cop lady...

"this is the actual filming miniature of the T.I.E. Fighter that bumps into Darth Vader's fighter knocking him out of the trench, allowing Luke to destroy the Death Star."

i thought Darth was chasing Luke, and then Hans comes along in
the Millenium Falcon, and BLASTS Darth's fighter out of the way.

well, maybe Chewie did the blasting, and Hans was driving.

Han does come in and blast 1 of the fighters, there are 3 in the scene, Darth and 2 wingmen, han blasts 1 of the wingmen which causes the 2nd one to bump into Darth and send him into space

1) *Han

2) The falcon blasts the one TIE, destroying it. The second TIE (the one for sale), presumably distracted by the fact that his buddy got vaporized, bumped into Vader's ship, sending it hurling out of the trench.

Hah! I love the little guy sitting in there, holding his head. Way to go on training those clones for tough composure in dire situations! 😛

*Boom!*

"Look out!"

*panic, cripple your boss' starfighter, and crash*

i never knew "tie" actually stood for something. i thought it was named that just because it kind of looks like a bow tie.
what does the "x" in x-wing stand for? 😉

The same thing the "X" in "X-Ray" stands for.

TIE = Twin Ion Engine, I think... when I was little i had tons of those books about everything star wars, and the x in xwing is just for the x-foil shape of the wings... duh.

geek forum, this may be, but comeon, star wars isn't just for geeks. I mean, its on the AMA's list of best movies EVER, and if I remember correctly has a couple "best quotes ever" on the AMA's list, so I think its more of a piece of cinematic history than something for geeks only.

I mean, something from star trek or battlestar galactica would definitely be a bit more geeky... :ducks head;

Rather than try to explain that only on a geek forum would people get so involved in what "TIE" or "X" means in relationship to the names of the fighters...but of course, HOW Darth Vader got knocked out of the trench is of major importance to everyone, and not knowing that bit of galactic history could be disastrous somewhere in life...
You're 100% right. I think you should mortgage your house, or sell EVERYTHING you own, then borrow the other $199,500 needed to buy this piece of gen-you-wine history...It can ONLY become more valuable...right?

If you were wondering who peed in your cheerios... It was me

i never really understood why this tie fighter bumped Darth Vader's. Was he trying to block the shot and bumped into him? Did the shot hit him and knock him into Vader?
