I just got an 07 A4 and I highly recommend it. I'd definitely take a look. I was surprised when I first spotted one with the titanium package. Was a hot looking car

Seems like you want performance. Can you wait for the upcoming Subaru Impreza WRX?

Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but isn't that supposed to look exactly like a Mazda3 Hatchback?

Sure, those cars are great if you don't mind people questioning your sexuality.
What you really want it the Thundercougarfalconbird.

Legacy GT. AWD is worth the price of entry. The WRX always put me off in the looks department.

the WRX got the 2.5l engine in 2006, and it is not flashable to 300hp with out mods. That stock turbo isn't that good.

and if you want a impreza, get an STI even if it means going for a slightly used one. Trust me it would be well worth the investment to go up a model.

Still it sounds like the legacy is for you.

Funny that, the old 2.0 WRX was good for 280+ with a reflash. My non-flashed 2.0 example produced 246hp and was a 2000 model year classic shape GF body.

The 07' Impreza WRX 2.5L TC looks sweet. If I didn't get the Mazda 6s for 19,500, I would of got this for 22-23k.

And AWD car for 23k is to say the least...one heck of a deal.

WRX and the 3 are smallish cars with horrible interiors. The Legacy is nice, but at that price point, DO NOT BUY until you have done this :

Go test drive a new Acura TL
Go test drive a new Infiniti G

Larger, but not behemoth (about the size of a Legacy), good fuel economy, great power and smoothness, outstanding style, high resale value, and a higher level of class altogether. The TL's bluetooth NAV system is a beauty, and the DVD audio is fantastic for a stock system. Highly recommended!

The Acura TL is an over priced family Sedan. You're paying 10k for the Acura name.

I agree to some extent, but it's not JUST about the drivetrain, I've driven the new V6 accord and the TL in the same day. It really is a nicer car in a lot of ways apart from styling. The ergonomics, low noise level (tires still rumble a bit), incredibly nice audio/nav system, etc, make for a great deal. Performance is excellent, and it compares VERY nicely against the G and BMW 3 series, as Acura gives you loads of options without nickel and diming you for them. An equivalent 3 series will cost 10k more, and in your words, you're just paying 10k more for that BMW name. Not entirely true, as the BMW has it's own eccentricities and charms (to some) that can make it a good value.

Ah, side note :

The 2007 Accord Special Edition (by far the cheapest way to get the V6 option), retails for $23,550, and is rated at 244hp/211tq.

The 2007 Acura TL retails for $33,500, and is rated at 258hp/233tq. The 3.2 is a very tunable engine as well.

Both are outstanding values, hold their values well over time, and are reliable. Fwiw.

Sorry for the confusion. I don't like the wrx over ALL of the other cars listed. I like it over the mazda 3. I like the legacy the next and the saab the most. I just looked at the infiniti G35 sedan and it looks pretty nice and classy. Plus it has 300+bhp under it's hood so it sounds sweet already. Kinda costy at 30k+ though. I love your opinion guys...keep em coming.

AWD would be nice since I snowboard often during the season.

The new completely-redesigned 2008 WRX hits the showrooms by September, so I wouldn't buy a 2007 right now unless you get a really really good deal.

Like the BMW and Mercades, they are also over priced. Ever since they stopped making them by hand at least.

Though I wouldn't mind a BMW M3 and M5. ;)

And I agree with the Honda V6 SE. Though maybe not the better looking exterior or interior of it's year, it's not an eye sore like the mini-wrx box cars (made for dirt rally's and not for the highway). I also love Honda's automatic transmissions. The tight 1,2,3 gears are great for off-the-line acceleration and the throttle-by-wire (introduced a few years back) offers good responsive acceleration around 50-65 mph mark on the highway.

you guys over seas got different engines and turbos.

edit: I think about the most I've ever seen on a stock wrx 2.0l turbo was 250-260ish. That took some effort as well.

Don't worry. I'm not going to take the plunge until early 2008. I just wanna think about what I want. So I can determine my options right now so I can plan how I'm going to paying for it, financing it...etc. Even if the new WRX comes out, I would rather have the old styling anyways from what I've seen so far. ;)

Well they have to please the environmentalists some how. And making it 50-state-legal is not easy anymore.

Any interest in 1 or 2 year old cars w/warranty & super low miles? You can step up to G35 or the like for that. Also in that running would be stuff like '05 330i German metal like This :)

Well that's sensible, and I'm pretty close to your perspective on this. For this kind of investment, I really think a classy mid-sized V6 strikes a good balance of performance/reliability/style/flexibility that can't be found with the little 4-cyl turbo jobbies. Not that a spin in a WRX/Evo isn't a lot of fun, but those kinds of cars can wear you out as daily drivers. I'm not 20 years old anymore :) I used to have a Jackson supercharged custom Prelude, but putting 200+ miles a day in Dallas traffic in that thing was a beating for sure, and I can only imagine a smaller civic/wrx/evo :( Besides, the low-end torque of the V6 combined with lower noise levels, and lower maintenance costs, add in better resale value, and it's almost crazy to buy one of those baby rockets. Of course, in cars, it's a good measure of what's in your heart, if you're not having any fun, you haven't found the right car for you.

Regards, I recommend :

TL/G35/Legend/Accord/Maybe a used BMW 3 (watch out in maintenance on these, but BMW does great warranties)
