So I bit the bullet last week on EBAY with MS CB <- kicks ass btw!!!

So I play Crysis and Crysis WH, COD4/5, Grid, Stalker: Clear Sky and some other games... but here is a general idea of improvements:

Res: 1680x1050 no AA
8800gt @ 720|gtx 260 c216 @ 702/1512/2400

Crysis & Warhead DX10 - everything on Very High/Enthusiast
12-15|28-31 AND SMOOTH!!! (compared to 8800gt ne-ways)

Stalker: Clear Sky Enhanced Full Dynamic Lighting (DX10)/Full AF/All On/Maxed No AA

7-12 (not Playable)|42(avg.) 25-33 in the am when the sun in trees DEFINITELY PLAYABLE!!!

COD 4/5 (beta MP) All Maxed/4x AA
64 (avg)|100+ Nuff said...

Grid All Maxed/16QSAA
7-10(not playable)45 with 4xAA|56-60

Next going to play FC2 when it comes in the mail!

Nice results. Have been thinking about a replacement for my aging 7900 GTO and this is definitely on the list. Although I haven't been playing many of the newer games on my PC. Been picking up too many PS3 games.

Interesting.....I have the 96GT and play GRID @ 16*10 also....I imagine not maxed out though, but 7-10 and unplayable with the 88GT?

That's at 1680x1050 with 16xQ AA. I'm guessing the 8800GT is running out of RAM (hence the massive performance boost when dropping to 4x AA).

Run folding@home and watch as you crush multi-cpu computers like they were running a 486.

Bizare...

1) I also got my GTX 260 from eBay with the MS cashback program.
2) I have it clocked to those exact speeds!!

Talk about coincidences. Only difference is mine is a 192-core model.

I have a 192 core model (EVGA "FTW" Edition). Its a great card, but I think I upgraded a little to early - probably should have waited one more generation. I had an 8800 GTX before and the difference at 1680x1050, while noticeable, wasn't the knock-my-socks-off kind like when I went from a 7800 GS to the 8800 GTX.

Interesting. My 8800gt is pushing at 19*12, but I gernally have to turn it down in many games to the 1680 to keep the settings at mid or greater. Would not mind upgrading soon but it seems we are on the edge of another launch fest.

I was trying that last night but the GPU version gave me BSOD, though I think that's because I was running cpu and gpu at the same time... Uninstalled cpu and reinstalled gpu version now I just get fatal error but on the upside, I don't get a BSOD ;)

:beer:Thinking about pushing the clocks more core & mem only as the clocks posted were my first and only attempt and they work. That never happens, so I figure I didn't go far enough.

That's why I went with EVGA, step up has 90 days for new release... :)

Ouch.

I'm running the console version along with the console CPU. Make sure you have the latest NVIDIA drivers with CUDA installed.

6000-8000ppd is worth the trouble.

Hmm... got it working didn't install CUDA. It says I'm doing ~200 ns/day that seems low from what I was reading elsewhere.

You need to use the latest GPU F@H client. You can find it under "High Performance Client" on the F@H website.

Also, it helps to run the GPU client first, then run the CPU client. I don't know why, it just seems it likes it better that way. Your system may be different.

Thank keys, that's where I got it. Can I run the cpu and gpu clients at the same time as long as I start the gpu first?

Keep in mind GPU client is buggy as hell. Once I start it I have to reboot my computer to watch a bluray movie. Closing the client doesn't do it. Also, you should be able to fold with a CPU and a GPU at the same time. I haven't gotten a blue screen of any kind so to me your system sounds unstable. My specs are C2D at 3600mhz and a 9800gt...

I run 2 CPU clients and 1 GPU client at the same time. All in the console. The SMP client is still really buggy (that's why I run 2 regular clients). The GPU client is a bit buggy as well. It does slow my games down and I can't tab out of games.

Otherwise it runs 24/7 without issue.
