so...i lent 'my' car to my dad for a night and he forgot to lock it at night. the Ipod was connected to the car through a "cd-to-tape" type of cord and i also had my sennheiser headphones next to the ipod but they did not take those. I think this person opened the car went in and took my ipod and went through the glove-box but did not take anything from there (I had my e-z pass and some cd's in there)

What's the best thing I can do?

I'm upset because

1. it's $300 bucks
2. I had some video/photo projects on there that I don't have backed up to my computer...it was backed up on a website/server but...they went down and I don't have that data anymore.
3.people suck.

sorry, no. you can buy a new one. or report the ipod's serial number as stolen to your local PD. dunno if that will help much.

You can turn the theft into homeowner's if you have homeowner's but the deductable is probably greater than the loss.
City livin' kicks ass.

report it stolen, nothing will materialize from it though. perhaps just have to eat it and buy a new one.

I know how you feel. I got bulgarized too.

People do suck.

Homeowner's insurance probably won't be worth it since the deductile might be higher.

Make your father paid for it. He didn't lock the car...he is at fault. Take him to court if that is what it takes.

That sucks.

OTOH, IF you left it out where it could be seen from outside the car, you were just asking to have it stolen.

I agree that your father is responsible, but dont take him to court. Well, unless your relationship to your father is worht less than $300, which would be pretty sad.

...i lent 'my' car...

That's one fvckin' month's payment your dad makes for 'your' car's loan, insurance and upkeep... or are you the one paying all those bills? IF not, STFU and move on!
