To explain to me what the hell the entire movie was about

Was there a virus? Was Bruce Willis' character the kid at the end? Why did this matter?

That was the subtle part
Bruce failed, virus gets stopped anyway

One of my favourite movies of all time. Great performance from Brad pitt, and Gilliam just did a fantastic job :thumbsup:

No it didn't. she must have failed. If the virus was stopped, bruce would have never been able to go back in time and the mvie would never have happened.

So, what were the 12 monkeys doing? Were they buildings a fort or were the donning their armor in preparation for battle? :Q

Awsome movie.

And the virus was stopped because there was a treadmill under the plane, so it couldn't take off. :D

Thats why thats where the movie ends there, its one representation of a time-line
now we have an altered time line, thus the failure of every time travel movie you have even seen. . .

Or it perpetuates because they think they did have it stopped but it was really when he let the security guard sniff the tube which propgated the virus before the guy actually got on the plane , but then it wouldn't have spread the way the movie portrayed based on the time-line of infectious disease.

Drake is talking about 12 Angry Men. And the "one man" did not realize he was innocent, he just wanted to give the kid a fair chance and to review the evidence before them which led to all 12 people figuring out he was innocent.

I think the question of the virus is supposed to remain unanswered, though to me it seems as if the virus was not stopped. I believe they were just trying to show how close they get, but how history is doomed to repeat itself. I think the grandfather paradox applies here, which is sort of what illusion88 was alluding to.
