So I just started watching Stargate SG-1

And I am wondering why they don't just switch to armor piercing rounds or something when fighting the ghouls? Obviously their regular machine guns are ineffective vs the ghouls armor, so why not use explosive weapons or armor piercing rounds?

Hmmm?

Show is alright so far, never realized they made a shitload of episodes, going to take me quite some time to get through this sucker...

ghouls...? 😕

They switch to FN P90s later..works much better, IIRC.

I watched SG1 for..what, a year, maybe, before I caught up. Ten seasons at 20+ episodes/season! 😀

I'm too fat to look up the correct spelling, but you know what I mean 😉

Mmm sounds good, as long as they switch ammo I'm a happy camper!

I prefer using my Lincoln's repeater rifle against the ghouls. One shot one kill against almost anything walking the wasteland.

They do switch to AP rounds and in a later episode show some rebel Jaffa how much more accurate and effective they are compared to the slow and hard to aim staff weapons.

Also, expect a couple of really bad episodes in season one, but it keeps getting better up through about season 6 or 7.

Ya I just watched the crystal episode where it knocks O'neal out and takes on his clone. Pretty bad episode lol.

Season 8 was pretty good too, IIRC.

I'm all caught up except for the current season of Atlantis..

Holy shit, I just watched the Nox episode. Fuckin bad ass, why don't they help them against the ghouls?

These guys are like the masters of pwn.

or Goa'uld. And yeah, season 1 acting is bad. It gets waaay better. Sometimes its hard to go back and watch old episodes.

Goa'uld, got it 🙂

So, Nox discussion, basically the most pwnage out of every in the galaxy or are there more powerful?

The Nox were pacifists. And yes, there are several much more powerful species out there.

I see what you did there.

The impression I got was that the Nox were more powerful than the Asgard but the Asgard were willing to use it.

The Nox are easily my favorite race... I have a massive crush on Lya, how sad is that? They're the most evolved, besides a race I will not mention, in the spirit of not spoiling things for you. But I love the Nox, and you WILL see more of them and their awesomeness.

She's kinda quirky, as all Nox are, but I'd hit it.

Watch every episode. Even the bad ones, usually the ones that review previous episodes, are good IMO. I watched the whole series in 2 months last August/September, approx 5 or 6 Episodes a day! :Q When I finally finished it I was kinda sad for about a week. I needed more, but there was no more to be seen. 🙁

On one of those sad days I decdied to watch the original Movie. I recommend watching that first, as it fits in with the series, although there are some glaring differences.

Nice!

Cheers smack Down!

Sweet 🙂 I can't wait to see what happens.

I saw the original movie as a kid when it came out in the theathers, it was bad ass, I even have my VHS copy.

How is Stargate Atlantis? Are there any other Stargate series that I've missed or just SG-1 and Atlantis?

I agree, fully. I have all of the series on DVD, plus the original movie and the two movies after the series. I've watched it all though once (plus all the episodes I've seen on TV multiple times), but I'm watching it over again with my little brother. 😀

Also, I like quirky... :X

It would be cool if they added some debriefing etc and not just end the episodes abruptly. I'd like to see peoples reactions when they were told about the Nox and their technology etc.
