I would have paid timothy zahn 6- 10 million to write the prequels and made way more than "$564,797,846 Worldwide" and paid somebody else to direct it and on top of that not have had to lift a finger. But, I still could have written better movies by myself than lucas did w/ the prequels.

okay better story... delete padme... make it simply a lust for power w/ a minor love interest on the side more on par w/ what hitler had w/ eva brahm(sp) and perhaps keep some of the elements lucas though tof. second... delete lines that say "no i love you more" and the equivalent. Delete jar jar. Delete stupid little snotty kid. Delete midichlorian reference. Delete chewbacca from teh third movie. Cast actors that don't suck raw flacid 2" penis. stop modifying the original trilogy and work with it instead. dont' use horrible yoda puppet in first movie. make yoda less retarded. don't make the jedi so stupid. use that fast motion special effect like when agents dodge bullets in the matrix for moves the jedi make during lightsaber and other combat. make lightsaber combat meaningfull not just choreographed crap that doesn't fool anybody into thinking that they actually want to kill their opponents etc. etc. etc. and sorry... not enough time to rewrite them for no purpose... nor do I have enough time to make 42k posts... give me another 20 years

Doc has some decent ideas. I'm actually working on a revised script, have the general outline of the first 2 prequels done.

Basicall major changes I think are needed are:

1: Remove gungans
2: Make Anakin older in the first film so he doesn't age 15 years while Padme ages 4. Move much of the romance stuff up from II to I, move some of III into II, so III isn't rushed.
3: Explain the Sidious/Palpatine connection earlier and more bluntly in the first 2 films. A lot of people I know (ie nonhardcore fans) had trouble understanding the plotline and how he was working both sides from the start.
4: Write them more as a trilogy. Include Dooku in the first film ordering the clones for II and stuff line that.

I loved the third film, but its difficult to see the connection between anakin in the prequels and vader in the original. If Lucas didn't stupidly base his entire turning on the chick it might have made more sense.

Ep3 was the worst of all of them, something that I didn't think possible after the travesties that were Ep1 or the "Special Edition" remakes.

It's not necessarily that the movies are bad that is the issue (although they are, but I'm not going to take Nik's bait). It's that Lucas destroyed the whole story from the original. Of course, some might argue that the story was his to destroy, but that doesn't mean I can't hate him for it.

I disagree. The story was already doomed even before Episode III came about, I and II screwed it up so badly as it is.

III has great action and minimalizes the painful acting and other problems that I and II had.

I actually thought EP3 was great and I've seen it a number of times. If you can improve on it, then :beer: for you.

lucas is a sellout in plain definition. Essentially, what happened was way back in the 70's he had the star wars idea and it took off... now he's trying to milk it for every penny he can by making it a kids story because that's what he thinks the appeal to the story is, when it really has nothing to do with humor or puppets or cute creatures. People love the idea of the force and the battle between the light and the darkside and however they can incorporate that struggle into their everyday lives... as lame as it may seem the idea of star wars is a powerful idea one which is misunderstood by a lot of people INCLUDING it's creator...
