Well I guess this is my lucky day..

I'm off to CompUSA to sign a few things as i got the job and am awaiting a drug test. Anyhow, on my way home I hop on I-10 (Phoenix ) and start heading home.. It seems to me everyone out here drives faster than the speed limit, construction zone or not..

Well anyhow, i'm flowing along probably doing about 70 in a 55 everyone else is doing that or tad more... We hit the construction zone, --45-- I just continue on my way... Before i know it, i look up and got a god damn undercover behind me with his light on... SH!T!!!

Well i really didn't have a choice as to where to pull of since we are in a construction zone, so i just slow down and end up pulling off ahead..

The officer then pulls up to the car and ask's me for license and registration... I say " well officer, i have my registration, just no license.. THEN he pulls out the cuffs..

I then step out of the car, he talks to me.. Tell him I'm 18 and this and that... He's joking and what not saying im old enough to go to the big house.. 😀

Takes all my info, gets back into his car... He comes out and asked me why he shouldn't write me a ticket and this and that..

I tell him that my Uncle is a phoenix police officer and teaches all the driving technique's and stuff.. He says, "hey i know him"

Well that brought a huge sigh of relief.. Goes back to his car and says since your a nice guy, here is what i am going to do...

Writes me for Waste of Finite Resources..

The original fine was 200+ / 3 points / Insurance hike for sure..

The fine ends up at 32.00 / No points / No court / No Insurance hike..

😀

I shook his hand and thanked him...I was out of there.. He then said.. Enjoy Arizona.. with a 🙂 on his face...

PLUS, the plates on the cars have not been changed over yet, so they still said PA...

No license on me

70+ in a work zone ( with everyone else however )

Thank god it was a nice cop..

Isn't the entire Phoenix metro area a construction zone?

Woah, There are more nice cop stories in this thread then there are nice cops in the entire states of Virginia and North Carolina

Well i was in a hurry out the door and just didn't grab my wallet, i thought about it as soon as i went into CompUSA thinking they may need it for something..

They used to hand those out in Montana when there was no speed limit. If a cop thought you were going ridiculously too fast, they would pull you over, tell you to be a little more careful, and write you a ticket for the waste of resources.

The faster you go, the worse your milage gets. It was just a law put in place to help offset the revenue lost from not handing out as many speeding tickets.

Such a BS ticket. You can drive a motorcycle at 190mph and probably still get better mileage than most SUVs at 65. Where do they draw the line as to where you're wasting gas? Why can they even tell you whether or not you can burn gasoline that you bought legally. Such BS. I'd fight a ticket like that.

Well its a total no brainer.. If i fight it, the cop is going to say well.. I gave him a chance to get away, he was doing 70+ construction zone..

200+ dollars.
