For riding my bicycle on the wrong side of the street, less than 1/4 of a mile from campus.

<sarcasm>

Best part, its only like $130 dollars! Hell yeah!

Good. You put everyone at risk by doing that. Stop putting everyone in danger and drive an SUV while going over the limit by 10mph and texting at the same time.

Cause my house is on the same side of the street as campus, so I would have to either go to the light on the wrong side of the road (which i did), cross the street (jaywalk), or go back to the streetlight about 1/2 mile from my apartment.

I prefer riding on the opposite side of the street as well where applicable, that way I can see who is coming towards me. However, a mirror would serve the same purpose.

This explanation makes no sense. How are you going to jaywalk while riding a bike? How would you get home if you were in a car? Google maps for location so we can see the area in question, and also possibly find you and do things to your house?

Can't complain since you weren't following the rules.

<-- Rides a bike on the road all the time and actually follows the rules

its not jaywalking if youre on a bicycle... its making a left turn. youre a vehicle when youre on that bike, follow the damn road rules.

I would have to go in the direction of school on the wrong side of the road. Or jaywalk across the street to the other side. Or go backwards from the school to the streetlight to cross the street, then come back.

You can turn left/right out of the apartment complex onto the road since you are a vehicle. Signal, wait for a good time, and then go. I have no idea why you were on the wrong side of the road. You are allowed to cross lanes on a bike just like in a car.

You can't jaywalk on a bike anymore than you can jaywalk while driving. A bicycle is considered a vehicle and a left turn would be permitted. Now whether it's prudent is another story... But you were in violation of the law, so whether or not it makes sense to you is irrelevant. You can't expect much sympathy if you knew you were doing something illegal and got caught doing it.

Your bike can't turn?

How peculiar.
