It's a scam

you can get a better dell system for the total cost after you pay the $35/week

I've seen these ad's before, total scam. I never looked into it to see how bad it really is. Assuming you would pay the $36/week (says "as low as $36"), this comp would cost you ~$1800. The comp is a Celeron 2.6Ghz, 40GB HDD, 128MB DDR, and a 17" CRT. Oh, and you have to pay 3 months worth of payments up front. What a deal!

Yeah they are hideously overpriced.

IIRC the last time I saw one of their ads on TV I calculated that the "establishing your credit" portion of your payments (the number of weeks you pay them BEFORE you get your PC) would buy a better PC than what they were selling.

Absolutely insane.

Makes Dell's preferred account look like an awesome deal.

I guess if you have screwed up your credit so bad that you can't come up with $500 in credit you don't have a lot of options.

[EDIT]Check out their optical mouse upgrade... Only $1.99 a week for 52 weeks for a mouse that probably cost them $8.[/EDIT]
