so my buddies and I compete on tournaments, and we have a name for our team, its a unique name and recently we have been seeing other people using it, we went to a tournament on saturday and some other guy was using it for his team name, is there anything i can do to stop others from using it, legally? copyright? patent? trademark? anything?
 
No you can't copyright it, probably can't trademark it, can't patent it.

What is the word?

(trademarking it would cost you thousands of dollars, if you could even do it)

Stop using said word, hope everyone who heard word stops using it. Then don't tell anyone else the word except your friends.

for one, that is 2 words, im telling you the type of tournaments, the word is the name of our clan/team, which we use to compete with

and i dont know if anyone read my original post, but im not whining or ranting, im merely asking what my options are
