Get out!

Seriously though, even though I hate the game, if you have fun while you play it, who are we to tell you not to spend all of your time doing something that you enjoy?

I never said they shouldn't play it, I said I don't see how anyone can get addicted to a thing such as WoW since I can't possibly fathom it having any value. Then i cited an article that IMO, proves that it does in fact have value, its just of the negative sort.

I dont see how people can get "addicted" to any game. Sure, I've pissed away alot of time on a game but that doesnt mean I dont go to work. Hell, swing by and tell me we're goin to the bar and the game gets turned off most of the time. And I'd for damn sure rather go to the shooting range then play a game.

A game is a pass time thing for me.

Now computers in general? Games, internet, movies.....Just the PC in general? I spend ALOT of time on one.

I dunno what I did before the advent of the PC.....But I sure did alot of it!

QUIT RIGHT NOW AND COME PLAY EVE!!!! WoW is seriously gotta be one of the stupidest games I've ever seen, and the movies about subscribers rubbing one out because of their character doesn't really help. EVE is a much more mature game.

Wow was fun for about 4 months.. but then it became doing the same 3-4 hour mindless raids over and over... boring and mindless, like most of its current players : ).

Addiction might be a debatable term but some people do become seriously obsessed with a game; to reach the highest level as quickly as possible, or to get that elusive item.

You must be referring to those guys that jump on a new server and 'race' to max cap, like 3 days later they are lv60.

Wow, summed up perfectly.

I played this game for the free month because all my friends were into it.

I hate games that have so little to do with how skilled you as opposed to how much time you spend on it.

(Edit)
I read that article, wow it really was everything I wanted to say.
"time spent is more important than ability and that group activities are strictly superior to personal improvements and self-reliance." Scary

Also the monthly fee is such a farce it's ridiculous.

Man, you took the words out of my mouth; I hate mmorpgs.

"time spent is more important than ability" This is why I was really sad that they canned the MMORTS from SOE...... but nobody wants to think anymore, they just want to spend all their time grinding to the next level :(
