Also why can you not buy a small radio that looks like a radio any more?

Been to an electronics store lately? Damn things all look like space ships.

I wasn't impressed by the waveradio, especially for its cost

If they sold it for $80-$120 I would be impressed.

But $500? Um, no. That's like being impressed with a $15 stick of gum.

it does sound good for its size. in fact, i have to admit i was blown away by how rich it sounds. but for $300, i'd still take my money elsewhere.

Bose wave radio is GARBAGE. Mom had one, it broke, stopped playing CDs, then the speakers just stopped working.

but it looks so advanced. in the infomercial, you can see that highly advanced snake tubing stuff inside. they also show you those scientists drawing fancy formulas on the chalkboard. it must have been filmed directly from their r&d.

Maybe be base is nice, but have you heard real bass?

I'd much rather have one of the systems I listed above for about the same price.

Base is something that you put something on top of to add stability, <chem> something when mixed with acid will make a hurricane.

Bass is a fish with big and small mouth depending where you catch it, lower musical notes.

How low can you go? ATOT is nearly DC. :)

Don't know. I bought that as an Xmas gift last year. Got it from BestBuy, and I figured I'd just return it if it sucked... it didn't suck!

many modern recordings encounter pretty horrible phasing issues when played in mono. i would never EVER purchase anything that played in mono, period.

i'm no audiophile, but my Model One sounds pretty good with all the music i've pumped through it, including my mp3 player hooked up to it.

can you explain what phasing issues are?

what do you mean it can't handle it? the only thing that seperates that file from any other source material is the high dynamic range. it's not like it's demanding low bass or super detailed reproduction or instrument seperation.
