and it's sitting there...gathering dust. I make sure to clean it though, cause it does look so sexy.

Anyway, I want to get a game for it...I've never played Rachet and Clank before and I really enjoyed the demo. Has anyone played the full game? How long is it? Is it worth picking up?

I personally don't enjoy playing those sort of games, but it's getting excellent reviews (so, if you enjoyed the demo, you should probably get it). If you haven't played it before, you might want to pick up the earlier games in the series and play those first.

That is a great idea, the older versions go for pretty cheap, and that way you can make certain that this type of platformer appeals to you. I am of course presuming by the gathering dust comment that your PS3 definitely has backwards compatibility.

Nope, his house is just really, really dusty, and his PS3 is now covered since he hasn't moved it since yesterday morning.

:p

Get netflix and feed it a steady stream of 1080p blu-ray goodness. Cars and Ratatoulie from Pixar will be out soon, Spider-man 1-3, The Fountain, even junk like Ghost Rider is more watchable with 6x the pixels of standard DVD.

I second this but just know that the single player is comparable on the Ps3, but just know that the multiplayer is not nearly as good as on the 360..... You can't select a custom game, it seems like no one has mics (which is important in multiplayer), and it's hard as hell to get into games.

I really enjoy Resistance: FOM. I am also looking forward to trying out heavenly sword and warhawk.

Good god, isn't that true with.....um, anything? I've watched crap that I wouldn't have wished upon my worst enemy just because it was in HD :p.

Unfortunately I am not. I've had HD programming for about 3 years now, and I've watched some absolutely crap. Not only did I watch it, but I watched it completely through, because the picture quality was superb. It just comes with the territory :).

It's the truth, anything in HD is instantly more appealing.

More appealing, yes. But not enough to make me watch something that I otherwise wouldn't. Only enough to make me prefer one thing that I like over another thing that I like.

Ghost Rider wasn't Sci Fi channel Saturday movie awful, just third-rate, and the special effects were more entertaining in 1080p. It even had a few good moments like Cage's jail cell freak out :)

For me HD just tips the balance for something on the edge of being watchable in SD, I don't watch random episodes of "According to Jim" just because they're in HD.

imo Ratchet and Clank is the best PS3 game by far. It's definitely one of the best looking games out there too, possibly the best.

it's a great change of pace from the typical FPS/Racers/Shooter games that I've been playing over the past year. it's the first brand new PS3 game I bought and I do not regret it one bit. it's just an awesome game.

PS. I finally got my 5 free blurays heh, after sending in back in the middle of August.

Agreed... and since I'm in a nice mood, here's amazon's links for the previous 3 (normal) games (excludes deadlocked):

Ratchet and Clank (1)
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-P2S..._3/105-0266200-5199650

Ratchet and Clank 2: Going Commando
http://www.amazon.com/Ratchet-..._4/105-0266200-5199650

Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal
http://www.amazon.com/Ratchet-..._2/105-0266200-5199650

I saw two of these games at EB this past week and they cost just about as much as they do here brand new, so unless you can find a nice deal on eBay, the whole guaranteed new thing is too nice for me to pass up.

If you mean R&C, I haven't seen one.

But there are those moments when nothing is on but you're watching anyway...and that's where the HD program triumphs. Best of the worst and all.

Get a ratchet and Clank. Great fun, great gameplay, will keep you entertained. Also Assassins Creed is coming out soon I believe, and then Uncharted.

Oops I forgot I made this thread :)

I already own Rainbow Six Vegas for my 360, so that's a no go. Assassin's Creed looks cool but I kinda want something unique to the PS3.

Ratchet & Clank and Heavenly Sword are unique to the PS3 (if by unique you mean exclusives). Warhawk if you like online fighting, and Uncharted around the 20th.
