So....I have an AVI file...

How do I go about getting this AVI file(s) onto a DVD that will play in my set top box? I have some TV shows that I need to put on DVD.

I'm not sure of how it is encoded if that matters.

get tmpgenc and dvd authoring software

that's what i used...i don't do it very often at all though...so there may be a better solution out there

convert it to MPEG, author to dvd, burn
or get a DVD play that plays divx

This looks pretty good...but the TV show is episodic and I can fit quite a few on one CD.

Do a google search for a plug in then, they are usually free

this is exactly why I use my xbox to view avi files. i can stream them off of my PC to my xbox, no need to burn
