I had a G1, and loved it.
When it broke, the guy at the stop told me the cliq was better etc..
What a piece of crap it is!
I am not eligible for an upgrade yet at the discount prices.
I was thinking about trying to find a slightly used Android phone on ebay that would be decent until I can upgrade, at which point I am sure there will be some sweet new Amoled phone on the market. I saw a few Nexus S on EBAY, but they are too pricey. What do you all think I can pick up for say $200 that might be pretty good.

The guy was trying to push a Cliq. Do NOT trust store employees. Ever. They do not have your best interests at heart. They cant possibly. They have to keep their jobs. Which means two things.
1. The store has to stay in business (which means selling as much overpriced crap as possible).
2. He has to convince his boss that he's contributing (which means he personally has to move the overpriced crap).

That dudes agenda is totally against yours. Next time check with us. Do some research. Also, the G2 is getting mad awesome super good reviews.

Wow you got taken for a ride. The Cliq is a well known piece of crap. For $200 your options are a bit limited but the Optimus is going for under $200 on ebay and is a solid entry level Android.

Looks like the Nexus Ones can be had for $250, at best and the G2 for $300.
That sound right?

You are out of the return period? They usually will let you return within 30 days, and often - because T-Mobile tends to be pretty nice - they'll bend the rules a bit and still let you return even a bit after a month.

I would imagine that the listed price is only if you go through Amazon Wireless and make a new contract. OP is still under contract.

Then where the heck is he seeing G2's for 300 bucks? I looked all over and cant find them that cheap from a reputable store.
Unless he means extending his contract and adding a phone. Which I would never do.
This is why insurance is a good idea.

Its called getting them from the used market.
best place is craigslist. See above.
he can always open up another line and get the g2 for free right now.
Then pay the etf fee and get the g2 for less than $250

The G2 was free last week. $99 now.
The Vibrant is free now.
Stock, I hated the phone but once rooted and a custom ROM the Vibrant is a great phone.

If you like to customize, the HD2 might be something you'd be interested in. You can get them for a reasonable price too, along with any mobile OS you want.

That is entirely fabricated and inaccurate.

Cliq? Seriously?

HD2 and Vibrant are very good choices if you're the flashing type.

I believe the HD2 has been hacked to support Windows Phone 7, Andoird, MeeGo, and Ubuntu, all in addition to its standard WinMo 6.5. I'm keeping mine around just so I have a dev test platform for all the OSes.

But yea, the Cliq is and has been crap.
