We talk every few weeks, and in the most recent conversation she tells me that she was selling a diamond ring on ebay, starting price $3700. She received an email soon after the start from someone offering to buy it for $4300 if she would end the auction. She agreed, ended the auction, and he sent her an email with the credit card number, she charged the card through the retail store that her mother and her own. When she told me the story, she had the ring packaged and was on her way to Fedex to send it off to SINGAPORE!! I started laughing and told her to call master-card and check the billing address of the credit card and compare it to the address where she was going to ship the ring. Of course the addresses were different and the billing address was in the states.
I told her, that since I saved her from loosing her ring to the scam, when she sold it I deserved a 50% cut of the sale price.
She does not agree.
What do you think?
Edit: I guess it wasn't clear, I was joking about the 50% reward
