Yeah, I already knew it was true.

A friend of mine needed some extra cash to pay off some CC bills. He started mowing yards after work this spring and summer, and has actually done so well he is considering quitting his job and doing that for a living..anyhow...

He says the funny part is about half of his mowing customers have teenage kids that sit home and play video games and goof off all day long, and the parents pay this guy $40 a week to come over and mow their grass.

Is kids mowing Mom & Dads yard during the summer yet another lost tradition? 🙁

$40 a week... wow...

EDIT: How much do those people that take care of your whole lawn and whatever else is in your garden usually cost? The ones that are hauling all kinds of equipment like leafblowers and the like

Not sure on that, but he does different sized yards. The $40 was an average he gave me. $25 for smaller easy yards, up to around $80-90 for acre lots. Depends if they want hand mowed, or if a rider is OK. He will also do light garden work, pulling weeds and such for a few bucks extra.

He is pulling in an easy $1200-1500 a month just working a couple of hours after work, and a few hours on Saturday morning.
