Another vote for Paper Mario 2! Best single player game for me yet on the Gamecube. Better than Zelda, Metroid, etc.

Super Smash Bros Melee is a must. The Mario sports games are good too (Golf, Tennis, Kart). It depends if you're into single player or multiplayer games. If you're into single player games, try the Metroid Prime games, Eternal Darkness, Viewtiful Joe, and the Resident Evil Games.

Super Smash Bros: Melee definately fun with multiple controllers :)

Soul Caliber 2 - addictively good.

Mario Sunshine is good too, girlfriend spends hours playing on it.

if you like Star Wars games pick up both Rogue Squadron games. You can probably get both for about $30. The flight missions are the best rendition of star wars space combat scenes i've ever played.

Lots of reading in the 1st 2/3 hours. Gets much better after this point. So just bear with it a little longer.

I dunno.. I'm thinking about returning it (at $49.99) and getting metroid prime 2, or zelda windwakers or something.. I just hate those turn-based fighting games. It's so... fake.. I guess.. and pointlessly timeconsuming

I posted a thread in Hot Deals about a Circuit City video game sale going on right now. It's a good opportunity for you to stock up on some games.

You mean RPG's?

LOL, that was my reaction too.

um how about

"not like any other game"?

or better

"not my style of game"

it just seems stupid. Yes my hammer thwomp will hurt to exactly 2 times. Yes if you jump on my head you will hurt me 1 time. Yes I can run away. There's simply no skill involved.

It's an RPG. It's appeal is the exploration and story, not the skill it takes to fight. The only "fighting" skills required are managing your inventory and characters.

o-k well maybe paper mario doesn't represent a good RPG. I played it for... about an hour... and at that time I had found a professor, walked around, and had fought like 30 stupid same things that get killed by thwomping them every time... oh except they threw in a spiky hat guy every now and then for some REAL excitement

Well, I guess it's not for everyone. I'm close to the end and so far I've really enjoyed the story. It does start off a bit slow, but the humor and story kept me coming back once things got rolling. The fights are a bit repetitive, but overall it's a very accessible RPGs for people who don't play too many RPGs.
