Yes there is nothing wrong with a civic. To make a civic fast doesn't take much money that is why a lot of people purchase it and mod it.
For a cheap car it's quite comfortable and the performance is above average imo, and i think it looks a lot better than a Neon, Focus, or a Cavalier.

To get a Civic like mentioned in the title running 15psi on a turbo, you're looking at close to 10 grand if not more. That's enough to buy a car that comes stock with over 300hp.

Once, I saw a blue, four door 1997 Chevy Cavallier - not the z24, even, with an auto trans and one mod done: A fvcking $500 carbon fiber wing screwed to the trunk lid!!
That was beyond the beyond, and lower than I've ever seen anything. I'd take a Civic with no wheels before I drove that thing.

I've read many article and books on marketing. One of the most sucessful campaigns was honda=reliable. But its just that, marketing. Maybe do a search on honda, marketing and repairs.

Important point there. If you don't take care of your car, no matter what it is (and I'm not saying anyone specifically did not, just that people do), it will not run well or last long.

I had a civic a long time ago~
I bought it used it was a 86 I believe~ with 120k miles ~ i drove it till about 200kish without any problems and gave it away to our neighbor.
Our family owns a 99 Honda CR-V with no problems whatsoever
Our family owned a Chevy Lumina APV and that crap died after putting about 60k in it.
The Chevy APV van has been replaced with the Nissan Quest SE and has been running flawless past 120k.
After the whole Chevy fiasco. I'll never turn back to a domestic except maybe the Mustang SVT

and NO i dont hate on domestics.

I own a civic and yes it was riced out before but after getting 3 tickets in one day (damn Monterey Park PD), I decided to unrice it and it is back to stock. I was even in a car crew but I've now grown up. My experience with hondas are that they are very reliable, just remember to do your oil change and all the regular tuneups.

The main reason why you see so many people with them are because they are cheap, reliable and extremely modable just like any computer case. . I've known people who own MB, BMW to buy Civics just because they want to mod the crap out of it. I don't care what people say. Bash all you want, but I know my car won't be in the shop as much. Enjoy.

They'll prolly also make upgrades on suspension, transmission, and brakes as well.
Yes it'll will have torque steer but with a good driver I'm pretty sure it's manageable

i think that the whole rice issue can be summed by saying that not everyone is stupid enough to buy a cheap car and dump more money into it than it cost to buy in the first place, to try and make it fast. when for the same money you can buy a sweet new car that is better stock than the modded piece of crap.

it's kind of funny, how, for once, it's not actually rice as rice is defined... it's a civic, that has been modded to go fast. BEFORE all you flamers come and whine "but a civic can't go fast" "it's still a fvcking civic" "a turd is still a turd" "i'd rather drive my mommybox grocery getter" "my minivan can beat that" "he should've gotten a 1st gen dsm awd turbo and modded that and had a much faster car" "a 5.0 is almost faster than that stock" "damn imports, they'll never be fast" etc, etc, etc... be thankful that he didn't just slap on a bunch of stickers, a wing, 19" wheels, carbon fiber hood, a can of nitrous that's actually a sub, neon lights under the car, and a big fart tip. i mean, isn't that what you guys usually give sh!t about when people "rice out" their cars???

bottom line, it's his car to do with as he wishes, and all the flaming online isn't going to change that. I understand everyone has their own opinions and stuff, but open your eyes... not only is this civic nicely done, it's a RARE civic... granted it's still a fwd pos, it's a fwd pos that's pushing 300 ponies... 300 ponies on a 2600~2700 pound car can beat a lot of cars out their on the street... i don't care what you guys say, not everyone goes driving around awd turbo dsms and modded to sh!t 5.0 mustangs out there...
