That's definitely one of the first things I would try. Then I think I would do Bioshock at full settings on high res, then Company of Heroes in DX10. Then STALKER.

Bioshock demo is free that's a good start.

Then go download all of those new ad supported free games like Farcry and GRAW.

After that just buy games you might actually like.

how can i get temps off this puppy?

NVIDIA's nTune will show temps. Don't use it for overclocking though.

i tried that first, it's really weak for clocking... supposedly the 4.33 speedfan beta is supposed to get nVidia temps - but haven't seen them yet.

Rivatuner to OC, ATI Tool to test for artifacts, NiBiTor to edit the video BIOS, and nVflash to flash with the edited BIOS file.

overclock it until you can't go any higher, run 3dmark06 for a top score, then dial it back to reasonable speeds for everyday usage.

You can download the demo here along with the OpenGL patch for it. The timedemos will work with the demo.
