Most cars I've ever owned have been so dirt old that I doubt they had airbags, or would've worked. Hell, I drove a truck for 3 years that was half made out of wood, and had different colored doors. Didn't hear me crying and calling a lawyer.

String that thing out as long as you can, you don't need an airbag, just don't hit anything.

I expected a Spaceballs quote after #3, was disappointed. What about your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate? Is he a traffic cop?
 
I'm the type who'd probably say screw the airbag unless I could get one dirt cheap to throw in there.

I'm also the type who wouldn't buy a 10 year old car with a salvage title for $2800 😉
 
Sucks OP, but just be more careful next time. I always buy used cars mentally adding $1000 to the cost for stuff that might break within a year (brake pads, waterpump, compressor, battery, alternator, etc.).
