so i got mad at my g/f b/c she smokes to much weed. I got pi$$ed, hung up on her, and launched my phone at a nearby fence. Now my cell is broken, i have to buy a new one, and all my numbers are gone b/c she is a stoner. I think it is time to cut off contact.

i did lose my temper, but i will not tolerate drugs. we're both 27 now, and she acts like shes still in college when it comes to weed. she smokes almost everyday, and personally i feel its time to grow up

Smoking pot isn't a reason for me to lose my significant other. Working toward change in a relationship and not seeing that the change will occur (or seeing that the other is unwilling to make that change) would be grounds for removal.

You seem to be the one having difficulty coping. Your numbers are gone because you lost your temper and threw your phone against the fence not because she's a stoner.
Lighten up, have a beer, smoke a joi... oh wait , sorry....

While that could be true, you could also argue that statement. If his gf was not a stoner the whole situation would not have happened and biffbacon would still have his cell phone. However, you can have no self control and still have a cell phone. His gf being a stoner triggered his no self control, sending a message to his hands to throw the cell at the fence. If his gf was not a stoner biffbacon would still be happily chatting on his cell. 😕

im not judgemental, we have worked with it for six months, and she always said she was trying to cut back, but almost everytime i talk to her she is stoned. i smoked my fair share of weed in college, and am not against it, but think at 27 it is time for her to grow up a little, and quit doing it everyday. i have dealt with it for 6 months, and dont want to deal with it anymore. i did lose my temper, and i think the fact that she was able to make me lose it means it is time to get the hell away from this relationship

You can't make anyone do anything. I tried for years to get my ex to quit cigarette smoking (esp. in the car where I and my daughters had to ride). Tried all kinds of methods: mad, angry, encouraging, educational, pleading, etc. Nothing worked and she still smokes...and in her car, too, which pisses me off no end. My girls come over and I have to wash their clothes as they smell like smoke.

People don't change unless they really want to or some life-shattering event happens and they are forced to.

Until and unless you own the feelings you say she "makes you feel", you will not be in control of your situation. Someone will always be there, pushing a button that makes you do something out of the ordinary.
Those actions are yours alone. You had a variety of options and you chose demonstrative violence.
That is as much a cry for help as anything else.
I say "grow up" and face the hard choices. Either you and her work every day from here on out for an intoxicant free relationship, or break it off. Get some counseling. Go to NA. If you haven't done those things, you haven't "worked at it", you've given it lip service.
Either you love her for who she is, or you don't. But don't blame "the weed". It's just a symptom of deeper issues.

Both of you have some growing up to do.

She may be a stoner but telling her to grow up won't solve much.
Addictions need to be dealt with and are not easy to overcome, maybe helping
instead of getting mad may be more productive.

One could also postulate that if his GF wasn't a stoner, it would be something else that "pushes his button".
It's always easier to blame someone else, but the fact remains, it was his phone to choose to throw or not. There were other responses available. He chose to chuck the phone at the fence. It's his action to own.
