No, not quite that young, but those were good times.

You do realize that the only reason satelites broadcast every channel is because selectively-transmitted programming, as in the case of Cable, is impractical.

Yes, this is the point millenium failed to understand. Since they send out everything at once, in the thought proccess of stealing, it doesn't matter whether its a local or premium channel, you are still stealing.

In addittion, that SIGNAL is the legitamate property of the owner, such as Hughes or Directtv or the US government. Regardless of whether or not that signal reaches your house, it is encrypted with the purpose of allowing access only to allowed parties(customers).

This is where I disagree. I don't believe you can claim a signal someones property if it is sent to all. That is my feeling. It's like walking past an outdoor concert, you didn't pay for the concert yet you are able to hear the sound signals, should you be arrested for that. Just because they put encryption into it, doesn't mean it still isn't a signal.
You can criticize my argument all you want as:

1) I am not the greatest orator or write

I'm not a grammer cop, so I don't do the childish stuff others do.

2) i have had a MASSIVe case of the flu which only just subsiding

Hope you get better soon, the flu sucks.

3) I suck at typing

Don't we all.

, but you are nonetheless wrong.

You opinion, which you are entitled to.

In the end, that SIGNAL, is not YOUR property, so accessing without permission violtates US law.

the property thing is up for debate, as it's on your property with out permission. Just because its law, doesn't mean it's right. Laws can change, but I really don't see it changing anytime soon.

I still don't see how you can regard the decryption of a privately-owned signal as legal. By accessing that signal you are accessing THEIR satelitle, and therfore their services. Just because the SINGAL is not something immediately tangible does not mean that it does not have an owner.

And as for telephone lines and water manes, they are the property of cities and of companies. That rg11 cord running around your house is yours and you may do with it what you like, but once it makes contact with the telephone pole, you are required to abide by the owner's /telephone companies terms and conditions.

Basically, I see you arguing over "the presence of services at your doorstep." If you correctly understand society and its respective commerce in this day, you must realize that a great deal of equipment is required for these services, and in the end, capitalism cannot allow these services to be free.

AnalogTV is also NOT free. Corportions upon corporations pony up the money to run these services. Just because your route of payment is indirect does not mean it is nonexistant.

I don't see how anyone can claim ownership of the signal if they broadcast it to everyone. If they didn't want you to watch it then they need to encrypt it much better.

Exactly, and if the telephone pole happens to be in your yard, you still can't have access to it since you don't own it.

If they would encyrpt it better, they wouldn't have people descrambling it.

What type of analog TV are you talking about, the analog cable tv, or the rabbit ears tv?
