Using profanity in public is illegal here in Alabama. Thought that should be noted for anyone visiting. 400 dollar bond and a court date. Class C Misdemeanor. Oh, and they impounded my car for profanity as well. Somehow that just doesn't make sense.

Hopefully not too much will be missing from my car, but my wallet is already missing a credit that I had to cancel.

Update- Met with my attorney today and he is getting a continuance, so I won't have to be in court on the 18th, and also so he can get discovery granted and look at whatever supposed evidence that they have. With a cursory overview of everything and my statements to him... he says they don't have a case at all, and that the judge will more than likely dismiss it if the Prosecutor won't. Not only that but it appears that the arresting agency might have been out of jurisdiction, so if that is the case it will get moved from Municipal court to District Court. This would be good because District Court has much better Judges and Prosecutors and my attorney is also "in" with them much better. Also, if it does have to go to trial we will fight it all the way, and post the bond if we have to appeal to Circuit. So things are actually looking pretty good on the case, and hopefully we can get it taken care of inside a month if not even sooner. We shall see. I don't have my hopes up just yet, but this is good news for me.

2nd UpdateTwo officers from the department that arrested me were indicted yesterday on rape charges. This comes after the department was investigated by the FBI over Child Porn on Department Computers... told you all this department was CORRUPT.

Linkie.

3rd Update-My attorney met with the arresting officer last night, and with the Prosecutor this morning. The arresting officer said he'd do whatever the Prosecutor was willing to do, so if that meant dropping charges he was fine by that. My attorney couldn't meet with the Prosecutor in private, so he was in the DA's office with other attorneys. The Prosecutor offered to dismiss the charge of our choice and just pay court cost. My Attorney is going to meet with him in private later again because we want all the charges dropped. I'm not going to plea to anything, because it wouldn't really help. My lawyer said that he thinks the DA will in fact drop the other charges, but because the room was crowded with other lawyers that the DA wasn't going to give up that easy. Regardless... it is good for me either way, but I've still got to get the other charge dropped.

That's ridiculous to impound your car, unless you were using all the words you could think of to catholic school children.BTW it's illegal almost anywhere - I've just never heard of it being enforced.

Hang around a group of 16 year olds at a movie theater and by the end of it you'll want to line them up and shoot them.

Drunk no, had been drinking yes. Even though I am 21 they charged me with public intox as well. The two drinks I had in the preceding hour obviously made me publicly intoxicated. I asked for a sobriety test(Field or machine) and was refused my request.

There are laws against it in most places, but they're rarely enforced unless someone is being a real nuisance.

What exactly were you doing?
