So I got a speeding ticket on the I-10 freeway near LA.

Ouch..I only drive a '99 civic, but being bright red (and loud with an exhaust leak) I always find myself being tailed, so I feel for ya. Hopefully I won't have to deal with thsi when I get a WRX.

Wow...didn't realize I-10 went that far.

I spent alot of time on I-10 traveling between Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Houston, and I can say that the average speed on that section is easily 80-85... but its mostly rural areas.

Yea I-10 is the southern major east to west freeway in the US and goes from the Pacific to the Atlantic. Similarly I-80 is the major northern east to west freeway.

Its been known that if you're in the MPK area with a fixed up car (ie: lowered, rims, tinted windows, or mostly anything modified), you will get more attention from the MPK cops than anywhere else. One time I got 3 tickets in a week just driving around there. They just found some way to pull me over and cite me for something. They were all fix-it tickets but it was just a hassle.
