so i got a new tv,

and i hooked it up using the component cables (the red/green/blue ones) to my dvd player. is there any option i need to select to make it use progressive scan?

also, the tv is a sanyo 24" flat screen CRT, how much of a difference will i notice using progressive scan vs. regular video in?

if the tv supports progressive scan, you should notice a difference.

A standard def tv will not accept an 480P signal. It's still better to use the componet cable over a Svideo cable even if your set only does 480I.
