So I got a new job.

And I'm getting paid more than I ever have, I can cover all my bills and still have plenty of money left over for fun. But what is awesome about this is my mother no longer has to help me with bills while I'm living at home and going to college, now I can start helping HER take car of stuff!

No more crappy dish washer, first check is going towards that. Then I'll just look for things that needs to be replaced, I plan on saving up to get her and Dad a new bed to help with their back problems; maybe a sleep number bed.

Man I am so freaking happy right now!

congrats! good to see that you're taking care of your parents. good change of pace from the kids around this place.

just a tip, don't bother with the sleep number bed. they suck..just a glorified air mattress. get them a high quality mattress that they feel comfortable on. it will last much longer.

Tech help at a software company, I'll be starting out at 25k a year but it also has full benefits that are 100% paid for by the company.

25k may not be much to most of you, but it's a lot to me. Right now I'm getting less than 10k at my clinic (studying to become a Cert. Vet Tech) so this is a HUGE leap for me.

25k is actually a decent chunk of change, it's just that all the high-rollers here have NO idea how to live on a budget, because they were all eating caviar while the rest of us were slurping down microwaved Ramen.
