His accountant made an error... HOWEVER

at the bottom of the check is my correct First/last name, AND address... the only place the typo appears is in the pay to the order Of line.

Will my bank cash this?

Probably not. Why not call them and ask instead of an online forum?

It will be OK. I've had this happen before.

Well, how big is the check? If it's a somewhat large amount (>$500), I may reconsider. If it's like <$100 then cash it.

Pretend you didn't notice and deposit it. If they catch it, say sorry and get your uncle to change it and initial it.

Hmm.. it still might be OK.. but if you can get a new check w/o much delay then I would go for it. it might not be worth the risk.

Can't hurt to try. I get checks with the wrong name on them all the time (my middle name). Sometimes the teller notices, sometimes they don't. When they ask I just tell them it's my middle name (which is the name I go by). You could do the same, even if it's not true. :)

Or you could deposit it at an ATM.
