So I go to the new Krispy Kreme...

The first one in Canada, Mavis and Brittania in Mississauga, Ontario.

They have TWO LARGE TENTS set up outside to handle the lineups and four police officers directing traffic. For doughnuts.

I was driving by and thought I'd try them, but I'm not waiting a half-hour.

Did anyone here brave the horde?

I think Krispy Kreme is highly overrated...in fact I think they're pretty gross.
Their stock is fairly sweet though...

I went 2 days ago at 12:30am, and there were ~50 cars in the drive-thru line (which extended out into the street) and a cop directing traffic.

AT 12:30AM!!!

I'm going to try again tonight. 🙂

Ah...the memories of stopping by Krispy Kreme after church when I was a kid. That was back in the days when they would actually cover the whole top of the donut with chocolate icing.

The wife and I stopped by one in Fresno on the way to Yosemite while on vacation and I have to say these new stores are very nice. Wish we had one of those here (Louisville).

I LOVE KRISPY KREME!!!

MARRY ME KRISPY KREME!!!!

😀, well, ok fine, i do like them though...

iamshady, they have several here and the chicks in my school are not at all fat, in fact, they are very cute and very fine...

no you pervs, i'm not posting pics...

Ok, I shouldn't have said ALL, but you know the college diet can have harmful effects on most students, and opening a Krispy Kreme in my college town would definitely be a drawback on the hottie population 😉

Yeah it was like that here in D-port for the first week after Krispy Kreme opened. They estimated they sold about 250K dozen (yes 250,000 dozen) doughnuts the first day they were open. Which is enough to give nearly every person in the QC Area (Davenport & Bettendorf IA, Rock Island & Moline IL) each a dozen doughnuts. That's crazy! They've been open about two months and you still have to wait in some sort of line just about anytime. It's enough to keep me away unless someone else will get them for me.

<< N8, please tell me you didn't drive in from Kitchener for doughnuts. >>

Heh, nope.

I work in downtown Toronto on the evening shift, so I stopped by on the way home... as I will again tonight. 🙂

Too dang sweet for me. I'll still eat them though 🙂

Ouch! Oh well, I have nothing to do after work anyways, might as well sit in line.

As for the Tim Horton's on every corner, you sure aren't kidding. And when there isn't a dedicated Timmy's on the corner, there is a gas station with one built in.😎

Are doughnuts that hard to come by or something? I mean, I live in TN (where the Krispy Kreme peeps are based out of). But I haven't had a doughnut in forever and I'm not in a hurry to get some anytime soon. I like them, just don't eat them cause of the 25 grams of fat in every one of those yummy treats. I just thought that there were other places people could go to get their sugar fix.

One just opened up in Issaquah, WA (Seattle area) I haven't made it there yet but I heard that people were buying them from KK and selling them for a dollar a donut. All I can say is ummmm, yum.

From time to time you will find people here (Louisville...whassup conjur 😉 ) selling them on street corners and intersections for fund raising events. Usually it's a school group, such as bands or cheerleaders.

<< Krispy Kreme rules! I can wolf down a dozen or so by myself.
🙂

thats nasty man.. i get sick after the 2nd one

Hey, jd.

Yeah...cheerleaders selling donuts...I'm all for that. 🙂

<< They are not that good! What an unbeleivalbe hype machine they have created though! >>

Well, I've never been to a TimHortons and Krispy kreme is waaay better than Dunkin Donuts so they are the best in my book.

It's doughnuts for the love of God...

why can't people show some enthusiasm for more important things?

Anyone who waits more than 5 minutes for a freakin doughnut is a jackass in my book 🙂
