I politely respond to the event that riled this individual up and that I had already mentioned their particular issue before they went off the reservation, sending rude messages.

Then I get another message saying that they weren't looking for a reply to their 1st asinine message.

WTH? They want their say and nothing else matters? Why do people do this? Ego or trying to save face?

How about the people in your life?
 
I would file a formal complaint with HR. He's going to be doing the same with anything you say or do; don't think he's going to be 'cool' about it, ever. It's a death match now: you or him, and only the wise strategist will win. It must be this way, as offending someone like that means you have a mortal enemy that will work against you, in the back ground, in every direction you turn.

Nuke him from orbit, it's the only way to be sure.

I can't fathom how this could be offensive. What are you retarted? Did you fall off the ugly tree and then hit every branch on the way down? Were you dropped as a kid?
