Since we're random blogging emails, I got one this week from Josh McQueen on gmail:

I cant remember my password for my gmail acct. Please send me info to get password or change to new one.
Thanks,

I get these from time to time on my gmail account due to my gmail username being suspiciously close to something support-like. But my biggest giggle here is why does he need his password for his gmail account if he clearly can access his gmail account by sending said email...?

Maybe he's not too bright. You should send him a password.

Maybe he's trying to set up a new device or browser to pull his emails but his old one still works?

What's spam? I have several E-mail addresses and my financial E-mail is only used for that and no spam is ever delivered. On the other hand, my Yahoo account does get spam, but all of it goes to the spam folder. A few months ago I did get several spoof PayPal E-mails in my inbox that I reported to PayPal and those E-mails stopped like a bad habit.

The point here is that it's all about control. Where you hand out your E-mail makes all the difference in what kind of E-mail you will get. It's always a good idea to have an E-mail address for financial only, one for online signups, etc and one for personal use, etc.

Typing "just kidding" about something you've typed in the very same email or chat message never works. Ya know... the whole ability to edit and such.

Michael!

Great to hear from you. Hey, I hope that Edward Jones gig is treating you well. I've heard those financial advisor positions are good for making bank. Anyway, things have gotten a little rough on my end financially but lately it's changing for the better. Just trying to get over the hump until the inheritance arrives which is only supposed to take a few more months. I'll be needing to connect with an advisor then, that's for sure!

For now I'm trying to get by as best I can to avoid selling my inheritance right to a structured settlement company. Could you lend me $12,000 to cover living expenses and legal fees until the inheritance is delivered in a few months? Would definitely take the pressure off and it would go without saying how much it would factor into choosing an advisor when that time comes.
