So I found this thing in the garbage...

My building where I work is being demolished, so everyone is cleaning out their offices, etc. So far, I've found a nice laptop bag (with a mouse and phone cord inside), a hard shell briefcase, and now one of these https://www1.fishersci.com/Cou...d=204266&details=Y.

Mine seems to be older than the one in the pic, as it has a few more buttons on it and only 6 different programs that you can set - although it is the same model number. Plus, I found a very corroded battery inside of it that was supposed to be thrown out in 1997 :Q.

So, I opened it up, cleaned out LOTS of corrosion, replaced the battery, and now it works perfectly :D. Anyways, are there any other uses for this thing other than being able to set my lights to go on/off 6 times a day? There's a huge relay inside of it that looks like it can handle quite a large current, so it can't be just a stupid light timer. Plus, the website says this thing retails for almost $100, so it must have some sort of fancy purpose ;).

Thoughts?

Edit - I suck at teh linking :(

Edit 2 - The damn link won't work :| Fixed now.

it's not a fake paypal site, it is paypal
if you do a google search for 'https://' the first hit is paypal
the link is just screwed up, so firefox in my case just directs you to the first site

Yeah....for some reason, the https: in the link doesn't seem to agree with the forum software. It adds in an http: even after you delete it from the link, so it screws it up. My fault, should work now :)

It is a "stupid light timer".

You just aren't thinking big enough. ;)

leave the gas burners on (but not lit) in your house and then hook that thing up so that the fridge's compressor comes on after 5 days of gas leaking into the house.

Even on the Oct. 14th reference file?

And a browser redirect isn't always included in anti-spyware programs. It's a hijacker. Run CWS or HijackThis!

Nevermind nub, you obviously didn't get my sarcasm! I'm running Linux, I don't have any spyware.
