So... where's the scrumpy?

How can anywhere call itself Scrumpy's and then have Strongbow, Magners and some pissy raspberry crap on tap... absurd and insulting.

I bet they are still making more money than you are by selling it. ;)

The Stella has artificial coloring in it. What the hell? I have Celiac disease ( medical, not internet induced) and beer is out, but I like ciders a lot. The Angry Orchard Dry is the best of their lot. My wife likes the Cinnful Apple, but to me it is wayyyyyy to cinnamonny. They also have a Ginger cider that has a nice bite to it. Fox Barrel Pear is really good, but sort of expensive. Going to have to try the Crispin next.

I think Im going to try out a cheap at home brewer and make some myself.

Peace

You think that stuff is good, you should try some Boone's Farm or Bartles and Jaymes! They're all great at trying to score with 15 year olds and middle aged women that don't have money to buy their own liquor thanks to their cigarette habit.

cider is pretty wussy and easy to drink but it does taste good, still way less wussy than other stuff because at least it's a traditional product, not sweet crap with vodka in it.

Brands like Angry Orchard and Woodchuck add apple juice and/or sugar to the hard cider at the end to make it much sweeter than it normally would be. That's why those tend to be the popular brands.

My friend has started up a hard cider brewing company in Salem, MA. He trained in wine in France for a few years and now wants to apply it to cider. What I've sampled so far is pretty good clean and crisp stuff. His company is called Far From the Tree.

This coming from a guy that has a forum name after a WoW character :D.

Cider is awesome. I'm more of a Hornsby's man myself. Been a while since I've gotten some but I do remember drinking a lot in college.

Cider is about as wussy as wine...which isn't wussy at all.

This Stella Artois stuff actually tastes a lot like beer with an apple finish. It's not very sweet at all. Really like it. Plus, it's spelled "Cidre", so it's fancy!

6 gallons of hard apple cider, and 6 gallons of apple-pear cider here, homemade. :)

edit: actually, it's around 8 gallons total now. :)

Nice,
I had 12 gallons of Mead in the basement at one time, but, now it's more or less about 5 gallons...

(I had 1 batch of sack mead, and then 1 batch of milder low ABV pineapple mead.)

Pretty much it has always been a wus drink. Still good though at times. Although I prefer it mixed like a snake bite or a priests collar.

Pretty sure it is a girl drink; the only people I have known to drink it are girls. I mean drink it if you like it, I don't care, but don't try to make it something it is not.

Over in Europe Rekorderlig is very good stuff. I'd rather just drink beer to avoid getting hangovers though.

Angry Orchard and Woodchuck are fine beverages. Perhaps 'wussy' to some beer snobs. Especially those who drink shit like Guinness and try to pretend it doesn't taste like charred camel taint.

But FYI Stella in any variety is one step past a dick in your ass.

Seriously?

If you are going to shit on a beer for being rough or whatever, Guinness is about as "strong camel tainty" as a coffee with sugar and milk in it, like how women like it..

I like Woodchuck. But, Beer snobs do not generally drink Guinness since it's pretty much the wimpiest/most generic stout on the market.

Guinness does not really taste like anything. Not sure why people are always scared of drinking it, must be the colour. Really it just tastes like thick, creamy water.

I was drinking a lot of strongbow at one point but had to stop because my teeth started too hurt. I think it was from all the acidity and sugar.
