So I broke my middle toe. . .

I had an 'emergency' where I needed to go to the boy's room real fast (as I am sick with the flu) - as I got up I turned around started to hurry - ran my toe underneath a recliner right into the wooden/metal support and slammed it. As I felt it - I heard it go 'cruch' and felt a terrible burning/tearing feeling in the toe.

Now it is black and blue, crooked, and I cannot move it at all.

Sigh.

I am figuring there isn't much a doc will do for a broke toe?

I was carrying a table about the size of a card table (but made of sturdy wood); the top slid off and the edge landed squarely on the middle toe of my left foot. While it doesn't hurt anymore, it apparently won't ever go down to pre-breakage size.

Believe me, I feel your pain.

Oh yeah, and the swelling thing... broke that toe something on the order of 6 years ago.

Go to the doctor for the Flu, then while you're there, have them look at your toe.

Or just cut it off. :p

Nothing a doctor will do usually, don't bother with it. Take some Tylenol and suck it up. I've broken both big toes and the right-toe will occasionally hurt before a big rainstorm.

No, not much point in going to a doc unless it's very much out of place. If you can set it in line, then just do that and wear shoes all the time you are awake for a few weeks.

Just cut it off and let the bruised blood flow. Squirt some neosporene on the wound, and in a couple of weeks a new middle toe will emerge.

That sucks.

I was getting out of bed once and got my little toe stuck in the sheets...I yanked, it broke. It was sticking out at a 90 degree angle from the other toes. I almost ripped the sucker off. I went to the ER because it was so out of place, I couldn't bring myself to set it. As for your situation, I'd probably just tape it myself...

Nope. Just grin and bear it.

Go to the store and get some fudgesicles and medical tape.
1. eat fudgesicle
2. use stick to splint toe
3.
4. Profit (you still have rest of fudgesicles)

;)

I knew someone would ask :)

The pain thankfully made me not feel the need for a while :p
