Looks like it's shame on you. That is obviously not an official controller. Like, really obviously not official. The packaging does not say Microsoft or Xbox 360. And you honestly thought you could get a brand new 360 controller for $11.50? I've personally never seen them anywhere near that price.

Sure, the seller gave a misleading title, but literally everything else about the listing should have set off quite a few red flags.

yes, because everyone is techpro who exactly knows which one is official controller and which one is not.

It is obviously fake, but you can open a case and get a refund, as they advertise it as being a Microsoft controller in the title. I'd also report the listing for selling counterfeit goods, so they will change the title.

yes, I will. Not sure if 11$ is worth it, plus the shipping cost to send it back.

It looks exactly the same, so if you have an area if expertise in this case, then it is clear to you.

Since they caused the problem with their misleading title, they will have to pay for your shipping costs. Some sellers may just tell you to keep the item, and give you a refund as well. So I wouldn't worry about it.

Really? The only difference being is that it does not have a cross on the Home button.

Also, there is this one which is completely identical to the original one. Is this money where you must have special machine to verify its integrity? Cause it is the only way.

so you need a special training to identify the correct vs fake. I had a controller before and every console player when shown the one I bought would consider it legit, don't trust me go ask.

Also it is easy to spot fake dollar as there are differences in amount of polygons on the little grey rectangles on the right side of paper bill. Fake has less, real one has more. In case someone decides to scam you.

How could anyone think this was legit with that packaging? Did you think Microsoft called their XBox 360 controller by the name "PC Vibration Controller"?

lol. Sad.

Sadder that you went with a wired one! I've had a wireless xbox 360 controller and receiver for my computer for over 8 years now! Works great-ish. Joysticks have always been a bit iffy in some games.

It literally says "Brand:Unbranded/Generic" in the description. You don't need to be a "techpro", you just need to be literate.

The wireless adapters aren't built all that well though, so it can be risky. I've been through a couple, and apparently it's a certain resistor that fails after some time. Not sure if they ever fixed that issue or not.

A good chunk of eBay sellers, especially those that sells tech products are from China (despite where it says it ships from). Amazon's getting there too unfortunately- I ordered a phone case for my wife and it said it was located in the same city as I am (Vancouver) and when I got the package it said Chengdu, China.

Have we reached the critical mass where name-calling can happen?

A mod should just close this thread. OP learned nothing, and it's only going to get uglier from here.

I guess I got lucky. Mine has worked solidly for 8+ years.

Wired controllers work perfectly fine and they don't need batteries or a sketchy wireless adapter (which isn't exactly sturdy and costs extra).

Everything I read said it's just cheaper and less hassle to go with a wired controller. The cord lengths on xbox360 controllers are generous enough, that I doubt you should *need need* the wireless one. Depends on your setup I guess, if you use it with a HTPC.

I have one, and two wireless. I think I'll pick up another wired one....I really want to play some emulated 2 player games with my son. Do most emulators support two controllers on a PC? I'm trying to make my HTPC into an emulation box as well....

For older emulation (PSX era and prior), I still use my PSX to USB. Essentially lets me connect a PS2 controller to my computer which integrates seamless into emulators, but I have used my wired 360 controllers as well. The only problem with the 360 controllers is that if you use two of them, you have to manually install the second (or at least in my case I did) which is a royal pain in the ass just trying to find which file you need. It took me a few hours on Google and various sites to narrow it down and figure the rest out myself.
