So I bought these prawns, now what??

The market had a great deal on these prawns so I got whole package of them. Question is...how do I cook them?

The redneck in me says to bread them and deep fry those suckers like jumbo shrimp night at Long John Silvers, but that would probably not be the most prudent use of these critters. I was thinking more along the lines of something with garlic, herbs, butter and maybe some pasta.

Anyone have any recipes for prawns?

Marinade them in barbecue sauce, wrap them in bacon, stick them on skewers and grill them.
Grill some pineapple, too.
MMMMMmmmMmMmMmmmmm

Bacon wrapped prawns are damn good. You could also just sautee them in some butter and garlic then put them over pasta kind of like shrimp scampi.

Easiest way:

1. Put a lot of butter in a frying pan and melt it.
2. Add garlic, and just start to cook.
3. Add prawns.
4. Add 1/4 cup white wine.
5. Cook until prawns are all that orange colour.
6. Eat.

It goes really well with some fried vegetables and lemon rice.

COCONUT SHRIMP!!!!

- Preheat oil to 375 degrees
- Shell and devein the shrimp
- Dredge shrimp in flour
- Dredge in beaten egg
- Coat with flaked/shredded, sweetened coconut (press coconut onto shrimp so it sticks)
- Dust with bread crumbs or Panko
- Fry 1-2 at a time for about 1.5 minutes or until golden brown.

MMMMMM. Made some a couple days ago. GREAT!

the prawns we get here are nothing like the prawns in SE asia... now those are jumbo shrimp!

Yeah, but I prefer my shellfish to not come from highly contaminated waters full of hepatitis and other goodies. heh
How big are they?
The bag says there are approximately 16 PRONS per pound. Bought a 2-lb package for $10.
