😕 because thats exactly the opposite of what the car mag reviewers say. Ive never driven either to form my own opinion...but I thought BMWs are the holy grail of "driving feel"

They're exciting compared to other luxury cars. However, they're mostly dull, when comparing to a car like the Evo or STi. Those cars are purpose built for a track/street car, and they handle and perform like it first and foremost. Everything else is unimportant.

It's a 5-speed. Less shifting around town, slightly better mpg, and stronger gears to handle the extra power.

Yeah, the numbers aren't that impressing, but I have yet to meet a 300hp 350z/G35 that I can't take.

Yeah definitely 5-speed for the city. Thank your turbo for beating 300hp V6's. <300 HP turbo is > than 300HP N/A engine, for the most part 😉

GTO I'm buying has 400HP and you would kick my ass if only for traction 😛

Turbo definitely provides a lot of torque in the higher revs.

I really believe AWD and RWD to be a preference. AWD and RWD have their own areas they perform best in. I'd take AWD this winter though. My cars will have to take a 5 to 6 month nap soon. 🙁 Oh well, maybe I'll put a Maggie on the GTO this Winter. 🙂

I really love how it just grips and goes. No tire squeal, no drama, nothing. Once you make enough power, traction always becomes an issue. AWD with a crapload of differentials takes care of that. 😛

Question - Earlier you listed all the cars that didn't offer financing. Were those the ones you were considering? I am confused. For example, how is the A3 in the same league as the 335i?

I don't know anything about you. How much you make or what sort of lifestyle you lead. You are telling me you were considering cars between $20-45K? Last time someone told me that (just a month ago), I laughed (to myself) and guessed (correctly) they they would get the one closer to $40k. I mean do you seriously think you'd get the A3 when you could get the 335? It just seems silly and a bit dishonest to yourself.

There's not much logic to the crap that I do. And yes, that was my price range. Requirements were "Cars that would make me happy". 335i would've come out to $51k, and 2 month waiting period to get it made the way that I want and shipped over here.

To be honest, there's also a possibility that I'll keep the Evo for a few months til the tires wear out and trade it in for the 335i.
 
That would be an expensive hit on the trade in of the Evo...

It's definitely stiff. Perfect if you're having fun, lousy if you're just cruising around and the road has potholes.

I still haven't come anywhere near it's limits, and I've done some stupid stuff. It's pretty impressive.

BTW, Cosworth is going to start making crate engines for the car. 😉 Save up the pennies.

Just about anything shy of an Elise would be dull compared to an Evo or STi. BMW's never (or at least not recently) tried to be all about a raw driving experience; they're the "world's first luxury sport sedan." They've always gone for driving experience coupled with luxury.

That being said, I've wanted a WRX for years and years. Sadly, by the time I actually finish school and can afford a car other than my Hyundai, it'll like be time to "mature" a bit.
